Cryspen is now pereq

A new name for the next chapter.

A few months ago, we announced that we were spinning off our cryptographic engineering projects to focus on building a new product funded by our EIC Transition grant.

Our team is now building new specification and verification tools for mission-critical software across domains, well beyond cryptography. Today, we are marking this new chapter with a new name: pereq, and a new website: pereq.eu.

Why “pereq”?

Our name evokes the idea of building software per requirements. It is also a nod to Georges Perec and the Oulipo group, who showed that formal constraints do not inhibit creativity. On the contrary, they liberate us to imagine new possibilities and produce meaningful works that are surprising and fun. We believe the same is true of software, especially in the age of AI. Well-crafted specifications and formal proofs do more than establish that code behaves as intended. They give developers the freedom to innovate with confidence.
